Here is a rather unique 1930 Ford Model A 5-window coupe. I haven't seen one quite like it. To begin, the engine is not an old 4-cylinder,
flathead, or other Ford V8. Instead it has a Chevy 3.8L V6 mated to a TH350 automatic transmission! Kind of neat and not often seen. This
makes for a very reliable and practical drivetrain, with a sound that is perfect for the car.
The suspension has been modified as well. Up front, the original wishbone setup has been replaced with a 4-link setup, retaining the I-beam
axle and transverse spring. The rear has been redone with ladder bars and an x-brace, along with adjustable coilovers and a 10-bolt rear.
Additional vehicle modifications include front disc brakes, a tilt steering column, and trunk mounted fuel cell and battery.
The car is steel with fiberglass fenders. There are no rust issues on the body or frame, and all wood is in great shape. The green paint
with black accents looks nice but is a 10-footer. The locking doors and trunk open and close fine. The hood is a little wavy, but I am
including a replacement as well. The glass is all in fine shape, including the tip-out windshield. The wire wheels are very nice and the
tires are like new.
The interior is in very nice shape. The seats, headliner, door panels, and carpet have all been redone. The dash has a full set of gauges
(fuel, temperature, oil pressure, volts) and indicators, along with a clock and backlighting. Everything works great.
This car has many other nice features that you don't often find in this price range, such as a heater and air conditioning! Also present
are power windows, a windshield wiper, cancelling turn signals, courtesy lights, and a Jensen stereo.
If you want a 1930 that you can really drive an enjoy, then this one is worth a look. It will cruise all day without overheating or visiting
a gas station every hour, is quite comfortable, and has many features of a modern car. And I don't think you'll see another one like it at
the car shows.
