1961 Rambler Ambassador Custom- SOLD!!!

What you are seeing is a very rare 1961 Rambler Ambassador Custom. This was THE flagship model of the entire American Motors Corporation
lineup (AMC owned the Rambler brand), and represented a mid-size luxury performance model targetted at Cadillac and Lincoln buyers. These
cars do not come up for sale very often, especially in this condition.
This car has been meticulously cared for by its previous owners, which always adds up over the years. The body is remarkably free of any
rust, and all panels and gaps are nice and straight. The car was repainted its original color about 20 years ago and still looks great, as
it has been driven very little since. All chrome and moldings look wonderful too.
This Ambassador has its original AMC 327ci engine (250hp and 340ft-lb!) along with the optional Borg Warner pushbutton automatic transmission.
The engine starts right up every time and runs great, though premium fuel and a lead additive are recommended. The ride is nice and smooth,
even with the bias ply tires. The steering is tight without any slop, and the brakes are quite good (by 1960's standards). Again, all thanks
to proper care and mainenance by previous owners.
The interior looks fantastic and is quite luxurious for its time. The seats, door panels, dash, and carpeting are all in great shape. I
especially like the two-tone accents on the door panels, dashboard, and seat backs. All gauges and indicators work with the exception of the
clock.
This car is nicely optioned as well. Some of the highlights include air conditioning (still on R12), power brakes, and power steering. It
also has a dual speaker radio with trunk mounted antenna. Some additional options include a windshield washer, backup lights, whitewall tires,
undercoating, and Solex glass.
Further adding to this car's desirability, I have the ORIGINAL window sticker, bill of sale, and owners manual. I also have a factory service
manual and custom cover. The jack and spare are present as well. You really won't get many opportunities to buy an Ambassador like this.
