Here is an absolutely gorgeous 1970 Mach 1. A significant effort has been put into the restoration of this nicely optioned car, resulting in a beautiful Mustang that is as clean, straight, and rust-free as you will find.

It is finished in its original color of Medium Lime Metallic and looks fantastic, especially in person. I think this paint looks especially good on a Mach 1 along with the flat black accents and trim. Every piece of chrome and molding has been replaced or replated which really adds to the car's shine. The Magnum wheels are in perfect condition with like-new tires. Much of the original sheetmetal remains, though the floor pan was replaced as a single piece. The partial VIN remains on the inner fenders, and the Metuchen buck is present as well.

This Mach 1 retains its original H-code 351W engine, FMX automatic transmission, and 9-inch rear end. The intake has been converted to a 4-barrel Ford piece with Motorcraft carburetor. A few nice aftermarket accessories have been added as well, most notably the valve covers, air cleaner, and chrome shock tower braces. The drivetrain functions as good as new with easy starts and smooth operation. Sounds great too.

Per the Marti report, this car left the factory with air conditioning, power steering, and power front disc brakes. Everything is present and functional, making it a pleasure to drive. The suspension, steering, and brakes have all been redone as well so everything is nice and tight. This vehicle car looks excellent underneath as well, and is nicely detailed with red oxide paint along with factory chalk marks.

The interior is also in excellent condition. The seats, dash, door panels, carpet, and headliner all look great. The woodgrain trim, bezels, and lenses have all been replaced, making the car look like new. This Mustang originally had an AM-only radio, but this has been replaced with a period correct AM/FM unit.

This is a really well done car. The goes beyond the body, paint, driveline, and interior. All the little things have also been addressed. The horn, backup lights, neutral safety switch, windshield washer, backdrive, and clock for example. So often I see 'restored' cars that ignore all these details; not this one.

These 351 Mach 1's are becoming some of the most collectible Mustangs under $50,000. As a plus, this car's options make it easy and comfortable for anyone to drive. All the hard work is done; all you have to do is hop in and enjoy the ride.
